MICROIMAGER beamsplitter module for simultaneous dual emission imaging ready for delivery
TILL Photonics GmbH announces that starting today, the MICROIMAGER beamsplitter module for simultaneous dual emission imaging is ready for delivery.
The MICROIMAGER creates two spectrally different images on the CCD chip, allowing the
microscope operator to capture multiple images without having to change filters,
an obvious advantage over standard sequential imaging techniques.
Typical applications for the beamsplitter are Indo Calcium Imaging and CFP/YFP FRET Fluorescence-Resonance-Energy-Transfer - where two biological molecules are labeled with different dyes - donor fluorophore and acceptor fluorophore.
Donor-fluorophore is excited with narrow band illumination and stimulates the fluorescence of the donor-labeled molecule. The donor transfers its energy without emission to the acceptor labeled molecule as it comes into close proximity of the donor-labeled molecule.
As a result of this energy transfer, the donor fluorescence will be quenched and the acceptor fluorescence is stimulated to emit a fluorescence photon.
In addition to the MICROIMAGER module, TILL also provides analysis functions for TILLvisION to separate, align and overlay the images for easy adjustment and interaction under visual control.
