TILL Photonics Sponsors First Annual Sir Bernard Katz Award

TILL Photonics, worldwide supplier of innovative systems for fluorescence microscopy, is sponsoring the first annual Sir Bernard Katz for Excellence in Research in Exocytosis and Endocytosis.
The award will be presented to Prof. Erwin Neher ( Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, Germany ) during the Biophysics Conference in Baltimore, February 14 to 18, 2004, by Sir Bernard's son David, to recognize Prof. Neher's merits in the exocytosis and endocytosis field.
Leipzig-born biophysicist Sir Bernard Katz (1911-2003) won the Nobel Prize for Medicine or Physiology in 1970 for his studies on the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Der Preis wird während der "Biophysics"-Konferenz in Baltimore, USA (14.-18.02.2004), an Prof. Erwin Neher (Max-Planck-Institut für Biophysikalische Chemie in Göttingen) für seine Verdienste für das Feld "Exocytosis and Endocytosis" verliehen. Sir Bernards Sohn David wird den Preis überreichen.
Der in Leipzig geborene Biophysiker Sir Bernard Katz (1911-2003) hat 1970 den Nobelpreis für Medizin oder Physiologie für seine Studien über die Freisetzung des Neurotransmitters Acetylcholin gewonnen.
