Polychrome V − the brightest microscope light source ever
Polychromes have always been the reference for versatile microscope illumination since TILL released the Original Polychrome in 1993. We now have condensed more than 10 years of experience in illuminating your experiments into a highly compact package, the new Polychrome V.
The POLYCHROME V is polychromatic illumination system, consisting of an
- An integrated high stability 150W Xenon light source with power supply, lasting 2000 hrs and more;
- a rapid scanning monochromator which allows rapid wavelength-scanning or random access wavelength-selection at the stunning speed of > 400 nm ms-1. Its wavelength range is 320 − 680 nm.
- a DSP−based intelligence, which not only controls the galvanometric scanner moving the grating for wavelength selection, it also can be programmed using the Polychrome−SDK to carry out complex real−time protocols. Thus the Polychrome is not only bright in illuminating your sample, its brightness also qualifies it as a core component of an intelligent, protocol−driven imaging system.
- a quartz light guide to couple the selected monochromatic light into virtually any microscope on the market through an individually optimized achromatic condenser system.
With its outstanding performance the POLYCHROME V is the optimal excitation light source for quantitative fluorescence imaging (e.g. calcium imaging, multi-color GFP imaging etc.) and photometry. It can be combined with uncaging flash units through special two-port condensers.
