New Confocal spinning disk unit - a giant leap in 3D live Cell Imaging
TILL's Andromeda is a new confocal spinning disk unit which derives its outstanding performance and versatility from its fundamentally new optical concept.
Andromeda needs only a single disk and places dichroics where they belong, into an infinity space. Conventional designs use microlenses and two synchronized rotating disks with dichroics in the converging beam. The result of TILL’s new concept is
- A greatly improved PSF (point spread function)
- Higher resolution
- Better sectioning
at all magnifications.
All units have fully motorized switching of excitation filters, dichroics and emission filters (see
specifications for details). An
improved smoothness of rotation allows all units to be used with
up to 10.000 rpm.
