TILLvisION - Object Analysis

Make a copy of the image to find single objects in. If your source image depth is 16 (12) bit, you may want to use the conv8bit macro instead, because the binarize visualization works best with 8 bit images.
Threshold the image (Process/Point/Threshold ...) to separate objects from the background.
Process/Morphology/Closing to close holes in objects found by thresholding. Now you should have a binarized image, but all objects in it share the same numerical value. For further processing it is necessary to apply Process/Morphology/Label to distinguish between objects. The labeling algorithm applies different values to each object. Visualize them by selecting the Distributed Colors palette for the "binarized" image.

Measure Object Parameters

File/New/Object Analysis

Open the Object Analysis window to set up your measurement. With this window active you get a new menu (Measure). Add as many measurement items as required. Select source and label image and press the "Run Analysis" Button .
If - as a result of thresholding - there are objects included in your measurement (e.g. single pixels) wich are of no interest, apply a "filter by measurement results" to dispose of them. Press Filter ()to get two additional lines to enter filter conditions.
