Yanus II Scan Head
The second-generation laser Scan Head from Agilent employs achromatic telecentric relay optics, which images one scan mirror onto the other. This results in a stationary beam on both scan mirrors and identical scan speed for both axes.
Both galvanometers are driven by novel, fully digital scanner, drive electronics. These use scan algorithms based on a physical model of the galvanometers. A digital signal processor fits the driving signal to this physical model and applies the optimal voltage for a given scanned waveform. Speed and accuracy of this system are limited only by the physics of galvanometers, and this holds not only for predetermined, but for all conceivable waveforms.
The x-mirror is imaged onto the y-mirror by a spherical mirror, whose central optical axis coincides with the rotational axis of the x-mirror.
