Troubleshooting in TILLvisION

TILLvisION starts in demo mode (Copy protection key missing)

  1. The most likely reason is that you have connected a printer through the dongle. Some printers modify the electrical levels of the parallel port they are connected to if they are switched off. For proper operation you must switch the printer on. Some printer drivers may have an option for "bidirectional printing". This option influences the configuration of the parallel port. If you have problems, we suggest to go without this option.
  2. If there is no printer connected, the other most common reason is dongle driver related. To check this, please open a command line window (Start/Programs/Command Prompt); change to the TILLvisION root directory (e.g.: cd "Program Files\TILLvisION" and run the program hlinst with the command line parameter "." for the actual directory. (Type hlinst . and hit return.)
    If you see the message:
    Hardlock driver already installed.
    or some status messages ending with
    Driver successfully started
    Driver up & running
    please restart TILLvisION to check if the problem is gone. Otherwise it may be useful to first deinstall the driver by typing hlinst -d and then reinstall it as described above.
