Symptom: Vision starts with the following error message:
This error means that the grabber hardware cannot be detected. There are several possible explanations depending on the type of hardware and the version of Vision you are using.

If you are not sure which grabber came with your system and you do not want to open the machine you can use one of the hardware diagnosis programs offered via the Internet (ask TILL Photonics for help if necessary) to check the PCI devices. If the vendor ID is 10E8, the vendor name is Applied Micro Circuits Corp and the device number is 82EE you have the new type of grabber. If the vendor ID is 10FE, the vendor name Fast Multimedia and the device number is ACDC you have the older type of grabber. In case you do not find any of these data there might be a problem with the grabber or the computer. On request you can receive a floppy disk from TILL which automatically performs this type of analysis for you.
